Piccard.it Android app Privacy policy
A. Interaction with the app
The Piccard it app for Android, developed using the Niotron platform, makes use of a WebView module for the adapted rendering of the search portal and the Network Tools module, which is used to determine whether the device is connected to the Internet or not. No modules or features for obtaining user data are used.
B. Interaction with the search portal
When typing a term in the search field and touching one of the buttons to perform the search, the Android app makes a Chrome Custom Tab call with the customized address, allowing the user to access it from a complete and secure browser installed on the smartphone. Navigation through WebView has been completely omitted from the app, aiming for security and a complete browsing experience through websites.
C. The use of cookies and access data
The search portal page uses cookies only to record terms and mechanisms used, and no entered or recorded terms are sent to the developer or third parties, except for the recently implemented smart search feature with a results page that uses the exa.ai API (since April, 2026). When deleting application data or after a month, cookies are deleted.
D. Connection security
The Piccard it search portal page rendered by WebView is rendered exclusively through HTTPS with a certificate issued by Let's Encrypt, and all search engines are also invoked with a secure connection, which guarantees security when carrying out searches, except for extensive use of the GET method accepted as good practice by all search engines (if the term entered is "mr bean" and the Google button is tapped, the Custom Chrome Tab will be opened with the parameters
safe=active&q=mr%20bean for the website google.com/search).
E. Monetization of the project
The Piccard it search portal offers 45 search engines, among which, some have partnership, affiliation or similar programs that are used to make this project economically sustainable.
F. Additional credits
The 9 icons used in the interface of the page rendered in the WebView of the Piccard it app were obtained from
